DAY 1 USA – Havana   Private Residence (or Hotel option)

  •  Flights USA to Havana 
  •  Airport greeting by Guide and Drive; transfer to Old Havana
  •  Enjoy snacks and drinks with people-watching at Plaza Vieja 
  •  Specialist-guided art, architecture, cultural, history, photography walking tour of Old Havana

   Visit Havana's four main plazas: Plaza Vieja, Plaza de las Armas, Plaza San Francisco and Plaza Catedral 

  • Lunch at café with University of Havana political science professor 
  • Continue walking tour of Old Havana, with visits to Parque Central, Museum of the Revolution and Havana Fine Arts Museum
  • Dinner at paladar, one of Havana's best private family-run restaurants that have fueled rapid economic growth since 2008 
  • Musical evening on the streets of Old Havana (or optional Tropicana Nightclub show***)

DAY 2 Havana   Private Residence (or Hotel option)

  • Breakfast at lodging 
  • Salsa dance lesson 
  • Classic American car tour of greater Havana - 1 hour ending on the Malecon (“Embarcadero,” Havana’s social gathering   place, with a brief walk to the iconic Hotel Nacional, HQ of the Cuban Revolution, home to the Mob, Mafia, international movie stars and glitterati through Havana’s “Roaring ‘50’s” 
  • Lunch at café 
  • Visit the Havana community of Jaimanitas for a walking tour through “Fusterlandia,” neighborhood ceramic art project of “The Picasso of Cuba” Jose Fuster 
  • Dinner at paladar
  • Buena Vista Social Club show

DAY 3 Havana   Private Residence

  • Breakfast at lodging 
  • Walk in the shoes of an average Cuban, visit rations store and local market 
  • Cooking and mojito lesson followed by lunch 
  • Transfer to Callejon de Hamel, the Havana home of Cuba’s predominant Santeria spiritual faith (akin to Haiti’s Voodoo) 
  • Enjoy the Sunday-only Hamel street celebration featuring high-tempo percussion, dance and song 
  • Tour the Spanish Colonial architecture of Cemeteria de Colon, one of Cuba’s most visited sites 
  • Dinner at paladar 
  • Sunday-only late-night salsa dance frenzy and show on the Malecon at Club 1830

DAY 4 Havana   Viñales Day trip Private Residence (or Hotel option)

  • Early breakfast at lodging 
  • Transfer to Viñales via the orchid gardens and river of the Soroa region 
  • Tour and lunch at a family-operated sustainable produce farm 
  • Horseback or hike through the mogotes of the Viñales Valley to visit tobacco plantation 
  • Transfer to Havana via the UNESCO BIOSPHERE and agricultural community of Las Terrazas; walk in the Terrazas rainforest with resident naturalist, bird watching and zipline options available 
  • Visit provocative artist’s home art gallery 
  • Dinner at paladar in Havana 
  • Late night jazz option

DAY 5 Havana – Cienfuegos Private Residence  (or Hotel option)

  • Breakfast at lodging 
  • Transfer to Cienfuegos via Playa Larga 
  • Options to snorkel, hike or spend time at Fidel's favorite beach 
  • Lunch at café 
  • Visit Playa Giron (“Bay of Pigs”) museum & monument 
  • Overland ride (2 hours) through the tranquil Cuban countryside to Cienfuegos 
  • Check-in to lodging 
  • Dinner at paladar

DAY 6 Cienfuegos & Trinidad Day Trip   Private Residence  (or Hotel option)

  • Breakfast at lodging 
  • Transfer to Trinidad (est. 1514) known for its Spanish Colonial architecture & cobblestone streets (1+ hour drive) 
  • City tour Trinidad; Plaza Mayor; Casa de la Trova 
  • Stop for coffee world famous coffee shop 
  • Lunch at café 
  • Explore Trinidad’s artists’ shops; or, visit the Valley of the Sugar Mills, Cuba’s lost economy; climb El Torre for 360° views 
  • Return to Cienfuegos 
  • Dinner at paladar
  • Musical evening at Teatro Terry

DAY 7 Cienfuegos – Havana   Private Residence (or Hotel option)

  • Breakfast at lodging 
  • Walking tour of Cienfuegos town and its Spanish/French/Italian architecture - Palacio de Valle, Teatro Tomas Terry, and Paseo del Prado artists’ cooperative 
  • Boat ride across the Bay to tour the fortress - Castillo de Jagua 
  • Transfer to Havana and check-in to lodging 
  • Dinner at paladar 
  • Evening of music and art at the Fabrica de Arte Cubano

DAY 8 Havana – USA 

  • Breakfast at lodging 
  • Lesson in Cuban rhythms on percussion instruments(no prior experience needed) or instrument of your choosing 
  • Tour Ernest Hemingway’s Estate, Finca Vigia (“vigil farm”) on a hilltop overlooking greater Havana 
  • Airport Transfer 
  • Farewell Cuba!

Booking Change / Cancellation Policy: Cancel or change your trip for another without charge to 60 days before departure for a full trip credit until December 1, 2022.

Change without Fees: If you book now but have to cancel your trip, you’ll receive a travel credit in the full amount you paid for your vacation that can be used for any CTAG destination or itinerary in the future.  If hotel or other lodging prices are higher at the time of rebooking, you will have to pay the difference.
