All State rooms feature super comfy beds, TV, and A/C.

On the upper deck, a large dining area is encircled by cushy sofas inviting late-afternoon cocktails while watching the sunset before sumptuous dinners. The large corner bar streams music and features our expert mixologist ready preparing a variety of local and international specialty drinks. At the end of the large dining room the rooftop stairway yields to large open spaces complete with Jacuzzi, majestic panoramic vistas and brilliant stars.

An intimate dining room with glass table invites diners to feast on elegant lunches and dinners beside the bar and near the staircase leading onto the lower deck.

Outlets on board offer both 110 and 220V power and the large inviting sofas and desk with PC station provides opportunities to connect with the "other world" for those needing to stay in touch.

Clean, modern lines meshed with warm pastels transform the entire space into a waterborne dream leaving travelers with the shared regret of not having had more time to spend afloat on the Avalon 2014 in luxury and adventure.

We Take Care of Everything

We organize and execute unique small group privately-guided Cuba travel throughout the island in full compliance with travel regulations that are sure to leave indelible lifetime memories of Cuba, its people and the richly deserved worldwide reputation of the island as a leading ocean sanctuary and marine preserve. Cuba justifiably boast of its Gardens of the Queen Marin Park as the second - largest and best-preserved pristine barrier reef on the planet!

Pipín

At the mooring buoy, the reef is 15 meters deep, forming impressive canyons and caves that run perpendicular to the coastline until they reach 24 meters of depth at the edge of the drop-off. At this point, the reef is very colorful and alive, with huge schools of grunts patrolling the border of the abyss; many jacks; silver tarpons in groups of 10-50 coming straight at you and then making a swift turn 5 inches away from your mask, along with turtles, eagle rays flying near the wall and sometimes a lonely three-meter-long great hammerhead coming up from the deep to take a quick look at the divers and then disappearing into the blue. In the meantime, as divers go around the canyons, a group of 10-12 silky sharks keep swimming close to the surface near the boat; then, during the safety stop, they come to get an eyeful of the divers.

Vicente

Dive along the drop-off, with coral mountains at the edge descending from 20 m. to 40 m. and then to the abyss (800 m.). Visibility is more than 40 meters. You can find massive black coral colonies in the wall; also, the mysterious and shy great hammerhead shark (Sphyrna mokarran) sometimes emerges from the blue to show its incredible body shape and elegance.

Black Coral I and II

These two dives are the most exciting! Minimum depth is 24 meters on top of the reef, then a sandy bottom at 30 m. Channels run across the reef perpendicular to the coast, until they reach the drop-off; at this place, there is a resident population of more than 30 reef sharks (Carcharinus perezi) that get very close to the divers (sometimes 10 inches away from the mask). After 15 minutes of breathless watching at these creatures while they swim around, the dive continues close to the coral formations and sandy channels with sleeping stingrays (Dasyatis americana), parrotfish, big black groupers and tons of jacks swimming near divers until the end of the dive.

Daily Routine

Diving schedule is usually at the discretion of the customers following the instructor’s suggestions with 3 daily dives. The day begins with a wakeup call at 7:00 am, coffee/tea ready, breakfast at 7:15 am. Our diving instructors are ready to go diving from 8:00 am. Fast diving boats are used to reach diving spots having the opportunity to explore different sites each day and enjoy the view of mangrove channels, virgin beaches, birds and other exuberant fauna during the trips. There is no chance for loneliness; dive guides and crew are available every single minute.

Our group guarantees all the equipment required to ensure safety (First Aid kits with O2 on every boat, excellent communications with mother boats and mainland, life jackets, etc.). Sunday morning, check-in dive to get acquainted and make sure all equipment is in good shape. During the briefings, our experienced instructors will explain every detail of the dive, from what will be seen in a particular spot to the correct behavior while diving with sharks or highlights of the area and special characteristics of the marine life present. After the first dive, surface interval in one of the beautiful beaches. Second dive and, at midday, boats will return for lunch.

Together with the instructor, arrange time for afternoon dives or for excursions through the lagoon and mangrove channels. Coming back to the live aboard, it is time to drink a frozen “mojito”, enjoy the afternoon pizza and talk about the dives. Around 8:00 pm, dinner is served and, like a family, everyone gets together around the table. Night dives available.

The staff will be in contact every minute to assist and receive special requests or suggestions. Evening time next to the bar, to watch photos and videos while breathing the sea atmosphere, it’s time to plan with the instructors what will happen next day.

In Jardines de la Reina, our season is year round. A normal week includes 17 dives from Sunday to Friday; return to the mainland is on Saturday morning at around 9am. It is possible to book extra dives on request.
